Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, family-centered care to pediatric patients on the Med/Surg unit
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, reporting changes to the care team
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as ordered
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to create individualized care plans
• Educate patients and their families about diagnoses, treatments, and home care
• Document patient information accurately and maintain detailed electronic health records

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania or a compact state license
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• PALS certification preferred
• Previous pediatric or med/surg nursing experience preferred, but new grads with clinical rotation in pediatrics are welcome to apply
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to work flexible, as-needed shifts including weekends and holidays

Knowledge & Skills

• Pediatric assessment and early warning sign recognition
• Medication administration and dosage calculations for children
• Family-centered care and patient education techniques
• Comfortable using electronic medical records (EMR) systems
• Effective communication with pediatric patients, families, and team members
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, compassionate environment
