Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based Med/Surg nursing care to a diverse patient population
• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate effective patient care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Respond to changes in patient condition promptly and escalate concerns as needed
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control standards and hospital policies
• Contribute to unit quality improvement initiatives and share best practices

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license (eligible to practice in Louisiana)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS or PALS as preferred based on unit needs
• Comfortable with Med/Surg patient acuity and common medical-surgical procedures
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a team-first attitude
• Prior Med/Surg experience preferred; new grads with strong clinical training are welcome to apply

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in patient assessment, IV therapy, medication administration, and wound care
• Skilled in electronic health record documentation and care coordination
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and remain calm in fast-paced situations
• Strong teamwork, bedside manner, and patient/family education skills
• Familiarity with hospital safety protocols and quality improvement processes
