Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality Med/Surg nursing care to adult patients
• Assess and monitor patient condition, recognizing and escalating changes promptly
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
• Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Document patient care and clinical observations clearly in the medical record
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans and discharge needs
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and unit-based safety practices

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or compact RN authorization
• Clinical Med/Surg experience preferred; recent Med/Surg experience is a plus
• Comfortable working 12-hour shifts and adapting to day or night rotations
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Strong communication, critical thinking and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid Med/Surg clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills
• Medication administration and IV therapy competency
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Infection control practices and patient safety principles
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced hospital environment
