Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate medical-surgical nursing care to adult patients
• Perform thorough assessments, develop nursing care plans, and document patient progress
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient-centered care
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and post-discharge needs
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, escalating concerns appropriately
• Support unit goals by participating in quality improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (state licensure required)
• Experience in medical-surgical nursing (Med/Surg) preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; ACLS preferred or available
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and time management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced hospital environment

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• BSN preferred where available

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of med/surg standards of care and patient assessment
• Proficiency with medication administration and IV therapy
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate charting
• Excellent communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple patients safely
