Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to medical-surgical and post-operative patients, including orthopedic cases
• Manage IV therapy, central line maintenance, and blood transfusions with confidence
• Collaborate with a skilled team of nurses, techs, and unit secretaries to ensure smooth operations
• Float between MS2 and MS3 units as needed, building versatile clinical skills
• Document accurately using Meditech Expanse and utilize Pyxis and Welch Allen equipment
• Uphold patient experience standards and contribute to a positive healing environment

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Tennessee or compact state - we welcome travelers!
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience required
• BLS certification from AHA required; ACLS preferred but not mandatory
• Comfort with orthopedic post-op care and basic medical-surgical procedures
• Experience with Meditech Expanse, Pyxis, and Welch Allen vital sign machines

Education

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills for a fast-paced 5:1 patient ratio
• Proficiency in IV therapy, central line care, and blood transfusion administration
• Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and float between two units
• Excellent communication and teamwork to partner with unit secretaries and techs
• Time management and organization to handle 27-bed unit demands
