Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients on a Medical-Surgical/Cardiology unit
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and assess patients' conditions, reporting changes to the care team
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as ordered
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop and update care plans
• Educate patients and their families on disease management, medications, and discharge instructions
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut or compact state
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Prior experience in medical-surgical or cardiology nursing strongly preferred
• Ability to work night shifts and adapt to a fast-paced environment
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and practices
• Familiarity with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and rhythm interpretation
• Proficiency in medication administration and IV therapy
• Excellent patient assessment and clinical documentation skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
