Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care on a medical-surgical unit
Assess patient condition, monitor vitals, and respond to changes promptly
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care plans
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
Document care and communicate handoffs clearly in the medical record
Participate in unit-based initiatives to improve patient outcomes and safety

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (eligible to practice in Alabama)
Medical-Surgical nursing experience (as indicated by the role focus)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or willingness to obtain if required)
Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care
Strong communication, teamwork, and time-management skills

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Clinical assessment and patient monitoring on Med/Surg populations
Medication administration and IV therapy knowledge
Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation
Ability to prioritize, triage, and manage multiple patients safely
Good critical thinking and problem-solving under typical unit pressures
Customer-service oriented approach to patients and families
