Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-first care to a diverse MedSurg/Tele population including ortho trauma, post-surgical, and acute medical patients
• Monitor cardiac telemetry and respond quickly to changes in patient status
• Safely titrate IV drips such as heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine, and manage PCA pumps
• Coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers to keep the unit moving smoothly
• Collaborate with charge nurses, techs, and the broader care team to ensure every patient gets the attention they need
• Document accurately in EPIC and maintain a strong focus on hourly rounding and responsiveness

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Nebraska or a compact state - license to submit required
• BLS certification (AHA) required; ACLS strongly preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg and/or Telemetry experience
• Must have a valid driver's license and meet the 50-mile radius rule
• EPIC charting experience is required
• Comfort and skill with drip titration and PCA pump management

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid Med Surg and telemetry monitoring skills
• Ortho trauma care and post-surgical recovery knowledge
• Confidence titrating heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine
• PCA pump management proficiency
• Strong EPIC charting abilities
• Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced unit with multiple admissions and discharges daily
