Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional critical care to cardiac ICU patients, including post-operative open-heart surgery recovery
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and hemodynamic data, responding swiftly to changes in patient condition
• Manage ventilator support and assess respiratory status for critically ill patients
• Administer medications and titrate vasoactive drips with precision
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of intensivists, hospitalists, and specialists
• Educate patients and families on recovery and care plans

Qualifications

• Active RN license in California or compact license (willing to wait for licensure)
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• PALS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac ICU or critical care experience
• Experience with fresh open-heart surgery patients (recent) and mixed ICU patient populations
• Pass a proctored Dysrhythmia Test on day one

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in cardiac ICU nursing and critical care
• Proficiency in telemetry interpretation and GE monitors
• Experience with Cerner EMR
• Ventilator support skills and airway management
• Strong dysrhythmia recognition and treatment abilities
• Knowledge of mixed ICU patient care including medical cardiac and surgical
