Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under limited supervision, delivering compassionate, evidence-based nursing
• Plan, direct and evaluate total nursing care for Med-Surg patients to ensure excellent outcomes
• Administer medications and IV solutions skillfully and accurately
• Perform timely, accurate documentation in the patient record
• Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses and other staff to coordinate continuity of care
• Assess patient needs, prioritize workload, and adapt the plan of care based on patient and family responses
• Support infection control policies and maintain patient confidentiality
• Participate in orientation and in-service training to maintain high standards of care
• Remain calm and resourceful in emergencies and guide personnel to solutions
• Foster a positive work environment that promotes growth and job satisfaction

Qualifications

• Current Iowa licensure as a Registered Nurse (required)
• Minimum of 2 years acute care experience
• Healthcare Provider BLS certification (required)
• ACLS certification preferred
• Mandatory Abuse Reporter Certification within 6 months of hire
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English well
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends and holidays as scheduled

• Patient assessment, prioritization and care planning
• Accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Effective communication and collaboration across disciplines
