Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality care to mothers and babies during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs using advanced electronic fetal monitoring
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, D&C, cerclage, and other obstetric procedures
• Collaborate with a dedicated team of RNs, PCTs, and physicians to ensure safe patient outcomes
• Deliver immediate newborn care, including resuscitation and warmth, while supporting bonding and breastfeeding
• Educate patients and families on prenatal and postnatal care with empathy and clarity

Qualifications

• Active RN license (NC or compact NLC) required
• Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Experience with high-risk obstetrics and immediate newborn care
• Current NRP certification required
• Current BLS/ALS certification required
• Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required
• Circulating experience is a nice-to-have

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of labor and delivery nursing practices
• Proficiency in caring for high-risk obstetric patients
• Skilled in immediate newborn care and resuscitation techniques
• Comfortable with electronic fetal monitoring systems and EMR (Cerner, FetaLink)
• Strong critical thinking and adaptability in a fast-paced unit
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
