Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Day Shift, 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM (12.5-hour shifts)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $50 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive, compassionate care to mothers and newborns throughout the labor and delivery process
- Monitor maternal and fetal status using advanced fetal monitoring and respond quickly to high-risk situations
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, D&C, cerclage, and C-hysterectomy procedures
- Deliver immediate newborn care and stabilization in the first critical moments of life
- Collaborate with charge nurses, PCTs, CSTs, and the broader care team to ensure safe, coordinated outcomes
- Support the birth plan while adapting to each family's unique needs and preferences
Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact state
- 2+ years of Labor and Delivery experience
- High-risk obstetrics experience required
- Immediate newborn care experience required
- NRP certification required
- BLS/ALS certification required
- Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required
- Circulating experience preferred (nice to have)
Knowledge & Skills
- Deep understanding of labor and delivery nursing practices, including high-risk pregnancies
- Proficiency in advanced electronic fetal monitoring
- Experience with Cerner EMR and Fetalink
- Knowledge of procedures including vaginal delivery, C-section, D&C, cerclage, and C-hysterectomy
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to stay calm and adapt quickly in a fast-paced unit
- Friendly, outgoing, and adaptable personality
