Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, compassionate care to mothers and newborns throughout the labor and delivery process
• Monitor maternal and fetal status using advanced fetal monitoring and respond quickly to high-risk situations
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, D&C, cerclage, and C-hysterectomy procedures
• Deliver immediate newborn care and stabilization in the first critical moments of life
• Collaborate with charge nurses, PCTs, CSTs, and the broader care team to ensure safe, coordinated outcomes
• Support the birth plan while adapting to each family's unique needs and preferences

Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact state
• 2+ years of Labor and Delivery experience
• High-risk obstetrics experience required
• Immediate newborn care experience required
• NRP certification required
• BLS/ALS certification required
• Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required
• Circulating experience preferred (nice to have)

Knowledge & Skills

• Deep understanding of labor and delivery nursing practices, including high-risk pregnancies
• Proficiency in advanced electronic fetal monitoring
• Experience with Cerner EMR and Fetalink
• Knowledge of procedures including vaginal delivery, C-section, D&C, cerclage, and C-hysterectomy
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to stay calm and adapt quickly in a fast-paced unit
• Friendly, outgoing, and adaptable personality
