Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and postpartum
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs
• Assist with deliveries and cesarean sections
• Educate patients and families on newborn care and breastfeeding
• Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and the healthcare team
• Maintain a safe and sterile environment in the L&D unit

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Virginia
• BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA
• Minimum of 1 year recent L&D experience
• NRP certification preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in fetal monitoring and interpretation
• Knowledge of obstetric emergencies and interventions
• Proficient in electronic medical records
• Ability to remain calm and focused in high-stress situations
• Patient education and family support skills
