Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-acuity care to ICU, PCU, and Med-Surg patients in a combined unit
- Titrate sedation, vasopressor, and insulin drips to keep patients stable and comfortable
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, interpret 12-lead EKGs, and respond quickly to changes
- Collaborate with respiratory therapists to manage ventilators, BiPAP, and CPAP
- Float to sister units and the West Campus to maintain skills across ICU and PCU settings
- Support patients and families through critical moments with empathy and clear communication
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Arizona or compact state
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience (or 1 year ICU plus 1 year PCU/Med-Surg in a larger facility)
- Strong skills in titratable drips, ventilator management, and cardiac monitoring
- Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam with 80% or higher within two attempts
Education
- Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited program
Knowledge & Skills
- ICU, PCU, and Med-Surg nursing across varying acuities
- Titratable drips including sedation, vasopressors, and insulin
- Ventilator, BiPAP, and CPAP management
- 12-lead EKG interpretation and bedside cardiac monitoring
- Dysrhythmia recognition and rapid response
- Floating comfortably between ICU, PCU, and Med-Surg assignments
