Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-acuity care to adult and pediatric patients over 15 years old
- Manage complex conditions including neuro-surgery, respiratory failure, ARDS, sepsis, stroke, and cardiogenic shock
- Titrate critical drips such as vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics
- Monitor and interpret telemetry strips using Draeger heart monitoring
- Collaborate with attendings, fellows, and residents to deliver exceptional patient outcomes
- Float to all inpatient units (excluding Maternity/NICU) to support hospital-wide needs
- Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude while thriving in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Nebraska
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years recent ICU experience
- Valid driver's license at time of submittal
- Ability to pass a 90% open-book skills exam during orientation
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry interpretation and centralized monitoring
- Ventilator management from nasal cannula to full mechanical ventilation
- Drip titration and hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, A-lines, Swan-Ganz, ICP)
- Critical thinking and rapid response collaboration
- Willingness to learn new equipment and protocols in real time
