Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate care to critically ill patients in a Neuro/Medical ICU setting
• Manage complex lines and procedures including central lines, arterial (A-line) management, and assist with intubation
• Monitor ventilators and respond to changes in patient condition with sound clinical judgment
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop and execute care plans
• Document care accurately and promptly in Meditech to ensure continuity and safety
• Support patient and family education with clarity and empathy during challenging times
• Participate in unit safety practices and contribute to continuous improvement efforts

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse licensure (state RN license required)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU nursing experience (explicit requirement)
• ACLS certification required
• Meditech experience is preferred
• Experience or comfort with Neuro and Oncology patient populations, BMT, and PCU is a plus
• Skill and comfort with central line care, arterial lines, intubation support, and EVD patient care
• Team player who is accountable, caring, and adaptable to floating across ICU areas

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills for high-acuity patients
• Proficiency with standard ICU equipment and monitoring systems
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR documentation
• Ability to manage ventilators and advanced airway situations
• Competence in invasive line care (central lines, arterial lines) and postoperative neuro care
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in fast-paced environments
