Roles & Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the emergency setting
• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care in collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary team
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments safely and in accordance with policy and the state practice act
• Document care and patient responses accurately and timely according to standards of care
• Deliver patient and family education to support recovery and safe transitions of care
• Participate in department performance improvement, shared governance, and peer review activities to elevate quality
• Escalate patient safety concerns using critical thinking and clear communication up the appropriate chain of command

Qualifications

• Active WI RN licensure (required)
• Verified graduation from an accredited nursing program (education verification required)
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS required
• TNCC or TNS required (one or the other is acceptable)
• Current flu vaccination as condition of assignment
• Experience practicing as an ER RN (position seeks experienced emergency nurses)
• Ability to work at more than one Emergency Department location within Janesville as needed

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (education verification required)

• Safe medication administration and accurate clinical documentation
• Care planning and execution for acute, emergency presentations
• Trauma nursing principles and emergency interventions
• Effective interdisciplinary collaboration and communication
