Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Night shift, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, with every other weekend rotation

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $51 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide expert emergency care to patients presenting with a wide range of conditions, from minor injuries to complex traumas.
  • Triage patients efficiently, prioritize care based on acuity, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver timely interventions.
  • Utilize advanced assessment skills to stabilize critically ill patients and support families during emergencies.
  • Work in a fast-paced Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, adapting quickly to changing patient needs.
  • Document patient care accurately in Cerner, ensuring continuity and compliance with hospital standards.
  • Act as a patient advocate, educating patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions.

Qualifications

  • Active RN license (compact or state-specific)
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an ED setting
  • Experience in a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center preferred
  • Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS (must be current before start)
  • ENPC must be obtained within 90 days of hire
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to coach and provide real-time feedback

Knowledge & Skills

  • Emergency Department nursing expertise
  • Proficiency with Cerner EMR
  • Knowledge of Level II trauma and stroke center protocols
  • Ability to float to all sections of the ED
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a high-volume environment
  • Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills
