Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert perioperative cardiovascular nursing care in the CVOR, ensuring patient safety throughout surgical procedures
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists and OR staff to anticipate needs and support efficient, high-quality care
• Maintain strict sterile technique and adherence to operating room protocols to minimize infection risk
• Continuously assess and monitor patient status, intervening promptly and documenting changes accurately
• Prepare and manage specialized CVOR equipment and supplies to support complex cardiac cases
• Educate patients and families when appropriate, offering clear explanations and compassionate support

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• CVOR experience (minimum 1 year of relevant experience as noted)
• Comfort working in a fast-paced operating room environment and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams
• Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to patient safety

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative/CVOR nursing practices and sterile technique
• Intraoperative patient monitoring and assessment
• Familiarity with cardiovascular surgical equipment and supplies
• Clear communication and teamwork in high-stakes situations
• Accurate clinical documentation and time-management skills
