Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care to cardiovascular surgery and vascular surgery patients, including open heart, TAVR, and AAA repairs
• Manage epidural pain control, chest tubes, and tube feedings
• Administer and titrate cardiac gtts like heparin, amiodarone, and milrinone
• Monitor telemetry and stepdown patients, ensuring early detection of changes
• Collaborate with a dynamic team in a fast-paced, rewarding environment

Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state
• 2+ years of stepdown or telemetry experience required
• ACLS and BLS certifications from AHA
• Prior CV surgery or vascular surgery experience preferred
• CVICU experience is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry skills
• Proficient in epidural and chest tube management
• Experience with IV glucommander and cardiac drip titration
• Ability to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced unit
• Team player with flexible attitude
