Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate care to critically ill cardiac patients, including recent open-heart surgery recoveries
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias, responding quickly to changes in patient status
• Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, and the care team to deliver goal-oriented treatment plans
• Administer medications, manage ventilators, and perform life-saving interventions as needed
• Float to telemetry and medical-surgical units to support the broader patient care team
• Document accurately in Cerner EMR and maintain a safe, healing environment

Qualifications

• Active California RN license or willingness to obtain one before start
• 2+ years of recent experience in a Cardiac ICU or critical care setting, including fresh open heart recovery and mixed ICU patients
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications; PALS and NIHSS preferred
• Ability to pass a proctored Dysrhythmia Test on day one, pass/fail
• Candidates must have recent and direct experience with fresh open hearts and mixed ICU patients

• Cardiac critical care nursing

• Ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Cerner electronic medical record proficiency
• Strong critical thinking and rapid assessment skills
• Compassionate communication with patients and families
