Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during examinations, fittings, and adjustments of braces and aligners
• Prepare and sterilize instruments, ensuring a clean, safe environment
• Take dental X-rays, photos, and impressions as directed
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and proper care of orthodontic appliances
• Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes
• Provide a welcoming, reassuring experience for patients of all ages

Qualifications

• Certified Orthodontic Dental Assistant (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Prior experience as a dental assistant, preferably in orthodontics
• Comfortable using dental practice management software like Denticon
• Ability to build rapport with patients and collaborate with the care team

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of orthodontic instruments, procedures, and terminology
• Skill in taking radiographs and dental impressions
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a busy office
• Commitment to infection control and OSHA standards
