Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during patient examinations and procedures to ensure smooth, efficient visits
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and operatory rooms before and after procedures
- Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring clear imaging for accurate diagnosis
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care in a warm, friendly manner
- Maintain accurate patient records and update charting in the dental software
- Manage inventory of dental supplies and order materials as needed
Qualifications
- Certification or registration as a Dental Assistant in New York State (or eligibility to obtain)
- Dental X-ray certification (or willingness to obtain)
- CPR/BLS certification preferred
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is a plus
- A genuine passion for patient care and team collaboration
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization techniques, and infection control protocols
- Familiarity with dental software for patient scheduling and charting
- Strong interpersonal skills to help patients feel comfortable
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced dental office environment
