Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth patient experience
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to infection control standards
- Take and develop dental X-rays as directed
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-procedure care
- Maintain accurate patient records and assist with treatment planning
- Ensure the treatment room is stocked with necessary supplies
Qualifications
- Must be a certified or registered Dental Assistant
- Valid X-ray (radiography) certification required
- Previous orthodontic assisting experience preferred
- Current CPR certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures
- Proficiency with dental practice management software (e.g., Denticon)
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Comfort with digital radiography and patient charting
