Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert peri-procedural nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures
• Assist physicians and the procedural team during diagnostic and interventional cases with calm, precise support
• Perform thorough pre-procedure assessments and prepare patients, equipment, and supplies for safe, efficient care
• Monitor patients intra- and post-procedure, recognizing and responding to changes in condition promptly
• Maintain sterile technique and ensure proper functioning of GE and Philips imaging systems and Cath Lab equipment
• Document clinical care accurately and timely using MacLab/CardioLab and Meditech
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to optimize patient flow, safety, and outcomes
• Participate in unit quality improvement and safety initiatives to advance best practices

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (ability to practice in Virginia or obtain state privileges)
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience (as indicated in the posting)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (must-haves for this role)
• Prior Cath Lab and/or EP Lab experience is required
• Comfortable with MacLab/CardioLab and Meditech charting systems; familiarity with GE and Philips imaging is a plus
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
• Willingness to work day shifts with rotating call as part of the team

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac catheterization and interventional procedure knowledge
• Electrophysiology (EP) procedures and ablations
• Proficiency with MacLab/CardioLab and Meditech documentation systems
• Experience with GE and Philips imaging/equipment
• Patient monitoring, hemodynamic assessment, and post-procedure care
• Aseptic technique, infection control, and Cath Lab safety practices
• Effective communication with physicians, RN colleagues, techs, and support staff
