Shift Type: Varied start times between 5:00 AM and 7:00 AM, typically 5:30 AM; 3x12-hour shifts or 4x10-hour shifts; one closing day per week (7:00 AM until last patient leaves); no weekends or holidays.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare surgical patients for surgery with compassion and precision
• Provide phase 2 recovery care, monitoring patients as they wake from anesthesia
• Administer moderate sedation and IV starts with confidence
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs using state-of-the-art equipment
• Collaborate with a team of skilled professionals in a fast-paced Day Surgery unit
• Assist with nerve blocks, arterial lines, and central lines as needed

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in preop holding and phase 2 recovery
• Active RN license in Tennessee or compact state
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• IV start and moderate sedation experience a must
• Proficiency with Meditech documentation system

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in preoperative patient preparation and assessment
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, EKG interpretation, and ultrasound guidance
• Comfortable with invasive lines (arterial, central, Swan-Ganz)
• Strong teamwork and communication abilities
• Ability to adapt to varying shift start times and closing days
