Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care using a variety of therapeutic procedures and modalities to restore strength, mobility, coordination, and body alignment.
Implement assistive devices and teach patients safe use to improve independence and function.
Deliver range of motion exercises, mobility training, and pain management interventions under PT supervision.
Document patient status and progress clearly and accurately in the medical record.
Follow the supervising Physical Therapist's plan of care and operate within the California State Practice Act.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team and communicate changes in patient condition promptly.

Qualifications

Valid California Physical Therapist Assistant license (LPTA) required.
Graduated from an approved Physical Therapy Assistant program.
Able to perform therapeutic procedures, modalities, assistive device training, and pain management techniques.
Works under PT supervision and practices in accordance with the State Practice Act.

Graduated from an approved Physical Therapy Assistant Program

Range of motion and mobility training techniques
Pain management strategies
Understanding and adherence to State Practice Act and supervision requirements
