Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care to pediatric patients across the hospital
• Assess patient respiratory status and develop individualized treatment plans
• Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and ventilator support as ordered
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the care team to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and home care strategies
• Respond quickly and effectively to respiratory emergencies and code situations
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses accurately in the EHR

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist license in the state of Oregon
• Current BLS certification (required); ACLS and PALS preferred
• Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program
• Previous experience in pediatrics or acute care is a plus
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of respiratory therapy modalities, including mechanical ventilation and oxygen delivery systems
• Skilled in patient assessment and monitoring of respiratory status
• Ability to work independently and as part of a fast-paced team
• Proficient with electronic health records (EHR) and documentation
• Excellent interpersonal skills with patients, families, and colleagues
