Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during exams, procedures, and adjustments
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments to the highest standards
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-procedure care
• Maintain accurate patient records and update charts
• Deliver a warm, comfortable experience for every patient

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Orthodontic Assistant certification preferred
• Current Maryland dental radiography certification or willingness to obtain
• Experience in orthodontics is a plus, but new graduates are welcome to apply
• Excellent communication skills and a friendly chairside manner
• Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative dental team

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic procedures, instruments, and sterilization protocols
• Understanding of dental radiography techniques and safety
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to connect with patients and ease dental anxiety
• Proficiency with dental practice management software
