Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient function using formal and informal assessments to inform care decisions.
• Develop individualized, goal-specific treatment plans and submit written treatment regimes for physician-authorized plans of care.
• Create frequency- and duration-specific treatment schedules and coordinate care with patients, families, and clinical staff.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on conditions, prognosis, treatment rationale, and home programs.
• Provide supervision for occupational therapy assistants, home health aides, and students per regulatory standards.
• Recommend and assist in securing adaptive and supportive equipment based on patient needs.
• Complete timely documentation required for billing and regulatory compliance.
• Serve as case manager for assigned cases, coordinating interdisciplinary care and participating in team conferences.
• Promote occupational therapy services within the health system and participate in community education efforts.

Qualifications

• OTR licensure (Occupational Therapist) required
• NBCOT certification required
• BLS certification required within 1 month of hire
• Bachelor's degree required
• More than 1 year of experience preferred; new graduates welcome
• Annual OSHA training and ability to follow exposure control procedures
• Ability to work with personal protective equipment and handle potential exposure to communicable diseases
• Strong verbal and written English communication, organizational skills, and ability to work independently
