Location: Des Moines, Iowa

End Date: 07-18-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 3x12-hour night shifts, every 3rd weekend, no on-call

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $58 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide life-saving respiratory care to patients in need
Manage and operate advanced ventilators and respiratory equipment
Perform diagnostic tests and assess patient respiratory status
Collaborate with physicians and nurses to develop care plans
Respond to emergency codes and provide critical respiratory support
Educate patients and families on respiratory treatments and devices
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with protocols

Qualifications

Current Respiratory Therapist license in Iowa or compact state eligible
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum of 1 year of recent acute care experience preferred
Willingness to work night shifts and every 3rd weekend

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in ventilator management and airway care
Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
Proficient in electronic medical records and respiratory protocols
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
