Roles & Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and prepare them for exams and procedures
• Take and record vital signs, health histories, and basic clinical measurements
• Assist providers during exams and minor procedures to ensure smooth, safe care
• Collect specimens and perform basic point-of-care testing as directed
• Maintain exam rooms, restock supplies, and ensure a clean, professional environment
• Document patient encounters accurately in the electronic medical record
• Follow infection control, safety, and HIPAA/privacy procedures consistently
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training to keep skills current

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant diploma or certificate preferred
• Current Medical Assistant certification preferred or relevant clinical training
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or willingness to obtain
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude
• Prior clinic or hospital experience is a plus but enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are welcome

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• Medical Assistant certificate or diploma preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient rooming and vitals measurement
• Phlebotomy and specimen handling (preferred)
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
• Basic clinical and administrative workflow
• Infection control and safety practices
• Team collaboration and effective communication
• Understanding of patient privacy (HIPAA) requirements
