Roles & Responsibilities

• Room patients efficiently and compassionately, taking accurate vitals and preparing them for the provider
• Obtain thorough histories and complete History & Physical documentation in Epic
• Perform medication reconciliation to keep patient medication lists accurate and safe
• Assist with in-clinic procedures such as biopsies and dressing changes, including setup of aseptic/sterile trays
• Perform basic phlebotomy and specimen labeling to support diagnostic workups
• Manage the Epic in-basket, handle telephone triage and follow-up phone calls with clarity and empathy
• Coordinate care tasks including prior authorizations, insurance verification and scheduling
• Float periodically to the Edmonds clinic (at least once per month) and potentially to Issaquah when needed

Qualifications

• Active Washington MA-C credential required (MA-R not acceptable)
• BLS certification required
• At least 1 year of adult outpatient clinic experience (ambulatory clinic experience preferred)
• Comfortable and experienced charting in Epic
• Proven ability to assist with procedures (biopsy support, dressing changes) and perform basic phlebotomy
• Strong communication skills for telephone triage, patient education and care coordination
• Ability to float to nearby clinics (Edmonds and possibly Issaquah) at least monthly

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) — Washington state credential required

Knowledge & Skills

• Epic electronic health record — charting, in-basket management and scheduling
• Cancer IQ familiarity is a plus for the oncology genetics setting
• Medication reconciliation and accurate documentation practices
• Phlebotomy and specimen labeling/handling
• Prior authorization and insurance verification processes
• Clinical rooming workflows, vitals, H&P documentation and procedure setup
• Telephone triage and patient follow-up best practices
