Roles & Responsibilities

Lead and manage perioperative and surgical services teams to deliver safe, efficient patient care.
Supervise circulating RN workflows, delegate duties, and maintain high standards of operations in the OR.
Develop and implement short-term and long-term solutions to department problems and process gaps.
Coordinate with physicians, ancillary departments, and peers to ensure smooth surgical schedules and patient flow.
Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies and support team members during critical events.
Oversee staff performance, provide coaching and mentorship, and support professional development.
Ensure compliance with licensing, certifications, and facility policies related to surgical services.

Qualifications

Current California RN license (required)
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required)
Bachelor degree or equivalent (required)
Minimum 5 years RN experience, including at least 2 years as a circulating RN in surgery (required)
AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and AHA PALS certifications (required)
CNOR certification preferred
One year Post Anesthesia Care experience preferred
Previous leadership, supervisory, or management experience preferred
Strong written and oral English communication skills

Education

Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
Bachelor degree or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

Perioperative nursing best practices and surgical services management
Patient assessment and safe patient care in the OR environment
Staff supervision, delegation, and team leadership
Problem identification and implementation of practical solutions
Emergency response and maintaining composure under pressure
Familiarity with post-anesthesia care principles
Ability to work cooperatively with physicians, ancillary departments, and peers
