Roles & Responsibilities

• Train and support all levels of EHR and ancillary clinical systems users using classroom, one-on-one, remote shadowing, and live interactive video
• Configure and optimize clinical content with medical staff across inpatient and outpatient settings
• Evaluate and improve clinical workflows to align with best practices and enhance patient care
• Collaborate with IT staff, clinical teams, and vendors to maintain application health and resolve issues
• Manage user accounts and permissions within clinical applications
• Develop clear, engaging training materials and deliver effective education sessions
• Triage user problems, escalate to appropriate subject matter experts, and follow through to resolution
• Update application content such as labs, radiology tests, medications, immunizations, and codes to keep systems current
• Continuously assess clinical decision support and recommend improvements to enhance safety and quality
• Support implementations and work outside regular hours as needed to meet project deadlines

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Alaska or another U.S. state required (Direct hire must have applied for Alaska license before start; agency staff must hold active Alaska license)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a medical setting; clinical experience preferred
• Minimum 2 years' experience with clinical information systems
• Minimum 1 year' experience with computer technology (programming, installation, report generation, or hardware/network experience)
• BSN preferred; advanced degree(s) may substitute for minimum experience year-for-year
• Teaching or training experience preferred
• Experience with inpatient clinical care, accreditation processes, or HL7 messaging is a plus
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication and problem-solving skills

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• BSN preferred
• Advanced degree(s) may substitute for experience on a year-by-year basis

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and clinical applications
• Experience configuring clinical content and clinical decision support
• Knowledge of scheduling, radiology, laboratory, and document scanning systems
• Familiarity with medical standards of care in outpatient and inpatient settings
• Ability to train diverse audiences and develop effective training materials
• Comfort collaborating with IT teams, vendors, and clinical leadership
• Skill in triaging user issues and coordinating technical and clinical resources
