Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage the Cost Accounting system to produce accurate service line profitability analyses and monthly service line P&Ls.
• Oversee the productivity system and publish physician practice P&Ls and practice scorecards to support operational decisions.
• Lead Decision Support activities for strategic and financial planning projects, ensuring high-quality reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
• Prepare and review financial feasibility analyses using STRATA, calculating ROI, NPV, IRR and other decision metrics for capital projects.
• Generate and validate reports required for annual financial audit, cost report filing, community benefit reporting, FEMA/Single Audits and GME reporting.
• Train and mentor managers, the supervisor of decision support, and the special projects analyst to interpret productivity and financial reports.
• Provide oversight for software implementations (including STRATA forecasting module, ERP components, and leasing software) and manage ad hoc reporting requests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (required).
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in cost accounting, budgeting and/or decision support within healthcare.
• Experience with STRATA financial software (or similar) and rolling forecast modules.
• Proven track record producing service line and physician practice P&Ls and interacting with leadership on performance improvement.
• Preferred: Master’s degree (MBA or MHA) and financial/healthcare certifications.
• Preferred experience in hospital/healthcare contracting, bundled payments and physician reimbursement.
• Demonstrated mentoring/leadership experience and familiarity with ERP and leasing software implementations.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
• Master’s Degree in Business Administration or Health Administration (preferred)

• Cost accounting and budgeting expertise
• Service line profitability and financial feasibility analysis
• STRATA financial software and rolling forecasts
• Financial reporting and forecasting
• Experience preparing materials for rating agencies (S&P, Fitch, EMMA, DAC)
• Physician practice P&L and productivity systems
• Familiarity with hospital contracting, bundled payments and reimbursement models
• Software implementation oversight (ERP, leasing software) and ad hoc reporting
