Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform environmental services duties that promote a safe, clean, and healing environment for patients, visitors, and staff
• Dust and sanitize furniture, equipment, mirrors, and fixtures throughout the facility
• Clean windows, walls, ceilings, vents, and light fixtures to maintain a polished appearance
• Sweep, mop, scrub, strip, and refinish floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets as needed
• Empty and sanitize waste containers, transport solid waste to compactors, and support recycling efforts
• Re-supply and stock restroom paper supplies to meet patient and visitor needs
• Clean and maintain housekeeping equipment, reporting any repair needs to supervisors
• Follow hospital policies and infection control procedures, including proper use of PPE
• Communicate effectively between shifts and report areas that need extra attention
• Support cost containment by using supplies and cleaning chemicals correctly

Qualifications

• Must be local to the Asheville, NC area
• Willing to work every other weekend and adapt to changing assignments during your shift
• Comfortable seeing, being around, and cleaning up all types of bodily fluids while wearing PPE
• Willing to wear personal protective equipment, including gowns, gloves, masks (including N95), and face shields
• Must pass background check and drug screen
• Must be able to read and write on an 8th grade level; high school diploma preferred
• No prior experience required, but 1 year of healthcare housekeeping experience is preferred
• Customer service experience is acceptable if you are trainable and eager to learn
• Must complete health screening requirements including TB test, immunizations or declinations, and respirator fit test

Education

• Must be able to read and write on an 8th grade level
• High School Diploma preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of cleaning and sanitizing techniques
• Understanding of infection control and safety protocols
• Skill in using housekeeping equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, and vacuums
• Ability to mix and dilute cleaning chemicals correctly
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to read labels and technical updates
• Commitment to customer service and professional etiquette
