Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee Plant Operations, Environmental Services, and Grounds to ensure safe, efficient facility operations
• Supervise and mentor approximately 45 FTEs across multiple divisions, setting clear expectations and training plans
• Direct preventative maintenance programs to keep utility systems, HVAC, boilers, and building systems operating reliably
• Ensure compliance with NFPA, OSHA, EPA, CMS, and local building and fire codes through inspections and policy enforcement
• Manage contractor and vendor relationships to ensure work meets hospital standards and regulatory requirements
• Respond to and resolve customer and employee concerns promptly and professionally
• Act as a liaison with clinical and non-clinical departments to assess needs and develop actionable plans
• Inspect equipment and systems, diagnose malfunctions, and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field
• Minimum of 5+ years of personnel management experience
• Demonstrated working knowledge of electricity, electronics, plumbing, carpentry, boiler operation, HVAC, and general building maintenance
• Experience with autoclaving, bio-waste management, life safety codes, and construction phasing
• Proven ability to apply engineering principles to detect and repair malfunctioning equipment or systems
• Willingness to relocate to a rural area (required)

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)

• Utility systems operation (heat, steam, power, gas, oxygen)
