Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide thorough dental cleanings and preventive care to pediatric and general patients
• Educate patients and families on proper oral hygiene techniques to promote long-term health
• Take and process dental radiographs while ensuring patient safety and comfort
• Assist the dentist during procedures by preparing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment
• Document patient care accurately and update dental records in a timely manner
• Create a calm, welcoming atmosphere to help young or anxious patients feel at ease

Qualifications

• Active Maryland Dental Hygienist license
• Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Prior experience in pediatric dentistry is preferred, but enthusiastic candidates are encouraged to apply
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental anatomy, periodontal disease, and preventive care
• Proficiency with digital x-ray equipment and dental software
• Excellent chairside manner, especially when working with children
• Detail-oriented with rigorous infection control and sterilization protocols
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dental office
• Compassionate patient education and communication skills
