Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality dental hygiene care, including cleanings, scaling, and root planing
• Educate patients on oral health, preventive care, and hygiene techniques
• Take and interpret dental X-rays to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning
• Apply fluoride treatments, sealants, and other preventive materials
• Document patient care fully and accurately in the dental record
• Collaborate with dentists and support staff to ensure a smooth, comfortable visit for every patient

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Dental Hygienist license in the state of Maryland
• Current CPR/BLS certification required
• Strong clinical skills and attention to infection control
• Excellent communication and patient-education abilities
• A caring, professional demeanor and a commitment to patient comfort
• Experience in a dental office is a plus, but all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with dental hygiene instruments and equipment
• Knowledge of sterilization and infection-control protocols
• Familiarity with dental charting and practice-management software
• Solid understanding of oral anatomy and periodontal health
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining a gentle, patient-centered approach
• Great teamwork and interpersonal skills
