Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic imaging exams (X-ray and fluoroscopy) following departmental protocols and radiologist directives
• Operate and maintain imaging equipment safely and per manufacturer recommendations
• Practice and promote radiation safety (ALARA) for patients and staff
• Verify orders, confirm patient identity with two identifiers, and educate patients about procedures
• Document patient histories, obtain informed consent, and ensure prior studies and paperwork are complete
• Maintain accurate EHR entries including procedure charging and supply usage
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate service/maintenance when needed
• Assist, train, and cross-train imaging staff and support clerical duties, phone reception, and patient transport when required
• Order and maintain supply inventory to support smooth departmental operations
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory and infection control standards

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
• ARRT registration in Radiology (R) required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain within 90 days of hire
• Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
• Successful background check and pre-employment drug screen (and breath alcohol test if applicable)
• Preferred: prior experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist and cross-training in CT, MRI, DEXA, or Mammography
• Preferred: experience with PACS and RIS/HIS and familiarity with EHR workflows

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Image acquisition and quality radiographic technique
• Patient identification, education, and safety best practices
• Radiation safety principles (ALARA)
• Fluoroscopy and C-arm operation, including OR procedures
• Equipment operation, basic troubleshooting, and maintenance coordination
• EHR documentation and procedure/supply charging
• Familiarity with PACS, RIS, and HIS systems
• Ability to cross-train in CT, MRI, DEXA, and Mammography
