Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate direct care and support to residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
Safely transfer and ambulate residents, using proper body mechanics and equipment
Monitor residents’ condition and promptly report changes to the nursing team
Document care accurately and timely to maintain clear resident records
Collaborate closely with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver excellent care
Maintain infection control practices and a clean, safe environment for residents

Qualifications

Current Connecticut CNA certification (required)
CPR/BLS certification (preferred or required per facility policy)
Comfortable performing resident transfers and assisting with mobility
Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude
Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required by facility

Education

High school diploma or GED and completion of a state-approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

Fundamentals of resident care and activities of daily living
Infection prevention and safe hygiene practices
Basic vital signs measurement and reporting
Familiarity with electronic or paper charting and documentation standards
Teamwork and effective communication with nursing staff and families
