Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents, supporting dignity and comfort
Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility)
Take and record vital signs, report changes promptly to nursing staff
Document care accurately and timely in resident records
Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection-control procedures
Collaborate with RNs, LPNs and the care team to deliver excellent resident-centered care
Support mealtime assistance and engage residents in social and therapeutic activities

Qualifications

Current CNA certification (appropriate for Connecticut) — required
Comfortable providing hands-on resident care in a long-term/skilled nursing setting
Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
Reliable, professional, and committed to resident safety and dignity
Ability to meet facility health and background screening requirements

Education

CNA certification required
High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Skilled in personal care and assistance with ADLs
Knowledge of basic infection control and safety procedures
Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
Effective interpersonal skills and a compassionate bedside manner
Basic charting/documentation skills and attention to detail
