Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care, including bathing, grooming, and mobility assistance
- Monitor and document patient vitals, intake/output, and daily observations
- Assist nursing staff with ADLs (activities of daily living) to promote dignity and comfort
- Support safe patient transfers and use of assistive devices
- Communicate clearly with the care team and families to ensure continuity of care
- Maintain a clean, safe patient environment and adhere to infection control practices
- Report changes in patient condition promptly to the supervising nurse
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification in the state of California (required)
- Recent clinical experience as a CNA preferred (even a few months of hands-on care helps)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude
- Up-to-date immunizations per facility policy and ability to pass background checks
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited CNA program and active certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven ability to assist with ADLs and patient mobility
- Familiarity with charting and patient documentation
- Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
- Comfortable working in fast-paced clinical settings
- Team player who collaborates well with nurses and other clinical staff
