Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nutrition assessments and develop individualized care plans for adult and geriatric patients
• Perform nutrition-focused physical exams to identify malnutrition risk and guide interventions
• Manage enteral nutrition and collaborate with the care team to optimize feeding plans
• Communicate nutrition recommendations clearly using iPhone/IMobile tools and the facility EMR (Meditech)
• Work closely with MDs, RNs, SLPs, diabetes educators and case managers to coordinate patient-centered care
• Support unit needs and cover other areas as necessary (including relief for NICU RD when requested)

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of relevant clinical dietitian experience (critical care experience is a must-have)
• Experience with adult and geriatric patient populations
• Comfort performing nutrition-focused physical exams
• Familiarity with Meditech or similar EMR systems
• Ability to use mobile communication apps (iPhone/IMobile) to coordinate care
• Order-writing privileges preferred (ability to add oral supplements, modify enteral orders per facility policy)
• Strong teamwork and communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics or related field (or equivalent)
• Registered Dietitian credential (RD/RDN) or completion of accredited dietetics program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nutrition expertise
• Adult and geriatric nutrition assessment and intervention
• Nutrition-focused physical exam techniques
• Enteral nutrition management and modification
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR
• Comfort using mobile communication tools for timely recommendations
• Ability to manage a patient workload of ~10-15 consults per day
