Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of the OT — help patients regain independence in daily activities
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create and implement individualized care plans
• Evaluate patient progress and document treatment outcomes clearly and professionally
• Educate patients and families on adaptive strategies, home programs, and safety techniques
• Assist with therapeutic activities, adaptive equipment recommendations, and discharge planning
• Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation and adhere to facility policies and regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Current COTA (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) credential in good standing
• Active Washington state licensure/registration as a COTA (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• Previous experience working in rehab, inpatient, or skilled nursing settings preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with a patient-centered approach
• Reliable, professional, and able to manage documentation and time effectively

Education

• Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Completion of a CAPTE-accredited OTA program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of therapeutic techniques for ADLs, transfers, and adaptive equipment
• Skilled in conducting focused treatment sessions and progress reporting
• Familiarity with common diagnoses seen in post-acute and rehab settings
• Ability to collaborate with PT, SLP, nursing, and case management
• Comfortable with electronic medical records and standard documentation practices
• Good clinical reasoning and problem-solving to adapt interventions to patient needs
