Location: Danbury, CT

Start Date: 05-06-2026

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 8-hour shift; exact start/end times and specific days not specified in posting (schedule to be confirmed with facility)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and support daily living activities
Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding and mobility safely
Monitor and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
Maintain accurate documentation of care and follow facility charting practices
Support a positive, collaborative team environment and resident-centered care
Follow infection control protocols and maintain a safe, clean environment

Qualifications

Current CNA certification (required)
Valid Connecticut CNA license or eligibility to obtain one (required)
Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred
Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
Ability to perform resident transfers and assist with mobility (proper body mechanics)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Completion of an accredited CNA training program (required)

Knowledge & Skills

Skilled in ADLs (activities of daily living) support and resident hygiene
Familiarity with long-term care routines and documentation best practices
Understanding of infection control and safety procedures
Good interpersonal skills and ability to calm and reassure residents
Basic charting and observation reporting skills
