Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents including bathing, dressing, and mobility assistance
Assist with vital signs, intake/output documentation, and basic clinical observations
Support feeding and meal assistance while encouraging independence and dignity
Maintain a safe, clean environment and report changes in resident condition promptly
Collaborate with nursing staff to carry out care plans and ensure continuity of care
Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through empathetic communication
Adhere to infection control protocols and facility policies at all times

Qualifications

Current CNA certification in Connecticut (required)
Successful completion of a state-approved CNA training program
Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Current immunizations and ability to pass required health screenings
Clear background check and TB screening as required by facility
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and excellent communication skills

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of state-approved CNA program required

Knowledge & Skills

Practical knowledge of ADLs, resident transfers, and safe patient handling
Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
Familiarity with infection control and standard precautions
Strong observational skills to notice and report clinical changes
Team player mindset and good time management under a busy schedule
Compassionate customer-service orientation toward residents and families
