Roles & Responsibilities

• Room patients efficiently and compassionately to keep clinic flow moving
• Collect specimens, perform Point of Care Testing (POCT), and complete lab draws accurately
• Administer immunizations and injections within certification scope
• Accurately document patient encounters, vitals, and medical history in the EMR
• Assist providers with procedures, minor office surgeries, and radiology per competency
• Set up equipment and supplies for exams and ensure infection-control practices
• Lead, train and supervise Clinical Assistant I and II team members
• Recognize and report changes in patient condition, safety issues, or unusual incidents

Qualifications

• Current national Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Flu vaccination required prior to start
• Nursing degree from an accredited institution may be accepted in lieu of CMA
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting
• Demonstrated ability to perform phlebotomy, POCT, and administer immunizations
• Comfortable using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and accurate data entry
• Willingness and ability to complete fingerprinting as required by the client (SEARHC process)

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• Certified Medical Assistant (national certification) or Nursing degree (acceptable substitute)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of clinic workflows, patient triage, and age-appropriate vital signs
• Proficient in medical terminology and computer applications for patient databases
• Experience with EKG/cardiac monitoring and manual defibrillator operation
• Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to recognize emergency situations and respond appropriately
• Skilled in specimen collection, labeling, transporting, and following lab protocols
• Organizational skills to maintain accurate patient records and support clinic efficiency
