Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist physicians in diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral catheterizations, ensuring safe and accurate catheter placement for imaging and intervention
• Prepare patients and procedure rooms, coordinating with RNs to ensure documentation and consents are complete before procedures start
• Operate and accurately utilize X-ray equipment and MacLab systems to monitor and document procedures
• Maintain radiation safety compliance for the team and patients during all procedures
• Achieve hemostasis safely after procedures and support wound care protocols
• Perform thorough procedure room turnover following Infection Control protocols to keep the lab ready and safe
• Administer intra-coronary medications per Bayhealth and unit policies when required
• Participate in ongoing education, workshops, and unit training; maintain required certifications and pursue specialty certification such as RCIS

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Radiologic Sciences or graduation from an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program (required)
• RCIS required if graduate of Cardiovascular Technology program; ARRT (RT) required if graduate of Radiologic Technologist program
• ACLS and BLS required; Medical Radiologic Technologist credentials as applicable
• If not already obtained, required certifications must be secured within specified timeframes (e.g., within 90 days or within 4 months of hire as stated)
• Minimum 18 months experience in diagnostic radiology OR completion of an accredited radiologic technology or cardiovascular technology program with program director and clinical site preceptor recommendations
• Preferred: Two years experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab performing diagnostic, interventional, and electrophysiology procedures; prior EP or interventional lab experience is a plus

Education

• Associate Degree in Radiologic Sciences or Cardiovascular Technology (required)
• Bachelor's Degree in Radiologic Technology or Cardiovascular Technology (preferred)

• Patient preparation and procedure setup
• Sterile technique and infection control practices
• X-ray equipment operation and radiation safety
• MacLab documentation and procedure monitoring
• Hemostasis techniques and vascular access management
• Intra-coronary medication administration
